SOLD
Another amazing work of God on our road to Haiti happened a couple weeks ago. On Monday morning our house went on the market. By that afternoon our agent informed us we had an offer. Not only that but it was well above our asking price. How does that happen in today's market? Only God! We give Him all the glory in this event. He provided a wonderful Christian real estate agent and He provided buyers that needed our house. A young family who had already sold their house, a mother who was concerned about where her son would be starting kindergarten in September and a father who understood our situation because he was a "missionary kid". All we can say is "AMAZING".
Our closing date is August 10th and we have booked our flights to Haiti for September 8th. That poses a problem as you can imagine. Finding temporary housing for 6 people and a dog can be difficult. But, as we have learned so far, nothing is impossible for God. We are not concerned in the least that He will continue to provide for us.
We have some fun events planned for the family over the summer including a much anticipated trip to DisneyWorld with Sandy's parents. This trip has been in the works for almost a year and once again, God has orchestrated the timing. He knew we were going to Haiti and planned a wonderful week together with family and a time of fun in the midst of all the chaos. He also knew we (Grant and Sandy) needed to be away and not worry about the sale of our home so He took care of that before we even left on our trip. We can't stop talking about the amazing ways God has taken care of us in this venture.
Things are coming together in our planning. We return from Florida on June 30th and will only have a few weeks to pull everything together to go on our container. We will then start packing up our house and moving things into the basement at Sandy's parent's house for storage. We do have one more week of vacation planned at the end of August and the kids (all 4 of them for the 1st time) will be spending a week at Camp Mini-Yo-We in July. We also have 2 birthdays to celebrate (Sammy's 10th and Riley's 6th). So our summer is full and we look forward to the time spent with family and friends with a new perspective.
Thank you for your prayers and for those who have already pledged financial support for us. We continue to trust God to provide for all our needs.
