Why would you uproot your kids and move your family to a third world country? Why would you sell your house and car and give up everything familiar and safe? Volunteer postition...you're not even getting paid? These are just a few of the questions that we have answered in the last few weeks. We have given many different answers in many different forms (sometimes depending on who was asking). We discovered that the simple answer to these questions is...His name is Jesus Christ. Some of you reading this blog will understand completely, to some it will only cause more questions (or doubts of our sanity) but that's ok. We don't worry about what others think of what we are doing. We care what Jesus thinks of what we are doing. We don't want people looking at us to think that we are special. We want people who are looking at us see Jesus shining out. We want what we are doing to make a difference...not only in the lives of those we are helping in Haiti but also in the lives of those who are watching us. For people following what we are doing to know that we are doing it because Jesus asked us to, and maybe they will want to know a little more about this Jesus we are willing to give up so much up for.
